Our marriages or relationships might be particularly challenged when we are parenting kids who have been exposed to trauma. In this curriculum, we talk about how to prioritize and nurture our marriage or significant relationships, including typical stressors that parents might face while raising a child who has experienced trauma.
Parents will leave the support group with a better understanding of the following topics.
- Why are children who have experienced trauma harder to parent?
- What are the common stressors that your relationships might face while fostering or adopting kids who have been exposed to trauma?
- What is triangulation? Why is it harmful to your relationships?
- How can you strengthen your relationships or marriage while parenting challenging kids?
*This curriculum includes a video, facilitator guide, and handouts.
